Director of Business Development

Kaiser is seeking a motivated and dynamic candidate to increase revenue by motivating and directing our logistics team.

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for the improvement or restructuring of our current sales system. Directing all sales, customer, and carrier relations. Bringing knowledge and desire to learn Kaiser's business model that will lead to the company's future success. This position will need to bring knowledge in creating performance plans that drive revenue, understanding of how to create and manage a budget, and how to build a successful sales team to sell a service in a niche business model. The right candidate will want to roll up their sleeves to learn what we do and then teach people how to prospect for customers through cold calling, manage carriers and freight, and to improve relationships with our current customer base. This candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing strategies to increase Kaiser's market share by identifying and developing transportation solutions to new and existing customers. A Director of Business Development will be accountable for ensuring team members are aligned with company goals and the delivery of them. This position confers and collaborates with a team of operational leaders to achieve revenue growth and sales targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to logistics management team in execution of target objectives
  • Improve current practices and develop solutions designed to solidify existing customer relationships and grow new business to support growth
  • Direct all aspects of planning, budgeting, and performance of logistics operations consistent with prudent financial management and operational excellence
  • Ensure company standards for ethics, quality, customer responsiveness and accountability, which are actively practiced by communicating information, evaluating, and providing feedback to management team on performance expectations
  • Serve as a visible leader for the business and model behavior consistent with the expectations of the company
  • Lead complex negotiations and close deals
  • Prepare presentation material outlining the company's logistics services and present the material to Kaiser staff and potential new accounts
  • Lead the Carrier Representatives to ensure customer service level requirements are met by other carriers
  • Utilize current sales-related technology/software and implement new streamlined technology/software solutions
  • Manage and oversee customer relationships and engagement to ensure satisfaction through implementation
  • Lead customer referral programs
  • Analyze and improve on data to drive Logistics success

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related business discipline
  • Experience: Five (5) plus years of Sales Leadership
  • Proven success managing a sales pipeline/funnel and developing new business
  • Proven success leading a sales team and successfully reaching sales goals
  • Transportation experience preferred
